Fondly called as 'India's Blue Train, the Deccan Odyssey includes 21 royally appointed coaches. Along with catering to the guests, these coaches are also utilised for innumerable purposes such as health spa, lounge, conference and dining. One can smell the ambience and feel the touch of the imperial carriages used by the Maharajas.

This 'Blue Limousine on Rolling Wheels,' endows a superlative experience, garnering the dreams of many with a touch of magical reality. So be it a UNESCO world heritage site, palatial residence or the vineyard, all these aforementioned destinations are revealed with a majestic touch.

History

Deccan Odyssey was an initiative of the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC). MTDC joined hands with the famous Taj Group of Hotels and created the magnificent Deccan Odyssey. Well equipped with all the modern amenities, this luxury train offers a truly wonderful experience.
Though the Railway Ministry signed a MOU for the luxury train with MTDC in February 2001 but it received a green signal by the ICF (Integral Coach Factory) only in May 2002. The design for the train coaches was finalized in five months. It took another five months to complete their construction. Finally this luxury train started its first journey on January 16th,  2004 from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus(CST)Mumbai.


Indian OdysseyTaj Mahal

Day 01

Board the train at the Delhi Cantt station and begin your enchanting journey, heading to the home of Tigers – Ranthambore.

Day 02

Day 05 Taj Mahal

This morning reach Jodhpur, the Blue City. Enjoy a walking tour of the Old Market and the magnificent Meherangarh Fort, famous for its several palaces with fabulous views of the city.

Day 06

Arrive at the princely city of Udaipur. Visit the famous City Palace which houses the spectacular Crystal Gallery followed by an enthralling walk through the quaint streets of the Old City. Complete the tour with a boat cruise on the tranquil waters of Lake Pichola.

Day 07

Taj MahalToday you arrive at the Royal city of the Gaekwads, Vadodara. Visit the famous Champaner - Pavagadh Archaeological Park, a World Heritage site, the magnificent Jami Masjid and the Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum. Witness a scintillating folk dance performance, as you savour a wide array of delicacies from the Royal kitchens at the Laxmi Vilas Palace.

Day 01 Taj Mahal

This evening, arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and board your train on a mesmerizing voyage through the Maratha heartland.

The train offers 21 coaches, out of which 13 are for passengers. These coaches are named after the historical monuments and different sites of Maharashtra. The fully air-conditioned deluxe saloons include 4 cabins with each saloon.

There are 4 Luxury Suite Cabins, 24 Twin Bedded Deluxe Cabins, 5 Double Bedded Cabins,14 Triple Bedded Cabins and 1 Cabin For Physically Challenged. Two-power Generator cars and Three Staff cars for on board staff are also available.
