Deoghar : The abode of Gods in Jharkhand
Located in Santhal Parganas of Jharkhand, Deoghar is known all over the country as the 'Baidyanath Dham.' The Baidhyanath Temple in Deoghar preserves one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and is also considered as one of the 51 sacred Shakti Peethas. It is the only location in India where the Shakti Peeth and the Jyotirlinga are together. Baidyanath Temple : It is considered to be one of the most sacred temples for worshipping Lord Shiva. Presumably, it dates to 1596. The temple complex includes the revered Baidyanath Temple along with 21 other temples. This temple derives its name from the term 'Vaidya' (doctor). According to the Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva reincarnated in the form of a healer to cure Ravana, who had previously bestowed his ten heads to Lord Shiva. It is assumed that the temple was later discovered after several years by a hunter called as Baiju.
Naulakha Mandir: Located at a distance of 2 km, the Naulakha Mandir's architecture is similar to that of Ramakrishna Math Belur in Kolkata. The famous idols of Radha and Krishna are present in the temple. Queen Charushila, hailing from King Pathuria Ghat's family from Kolkata had donated Rs 9 lakhs for the construction of this temple.
Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith: The monks of Ramakrishna Ashram run this school in Deogarh, which was established in 1922. It is also acknowledged for being one of the oldest schools of Ramakrishna Ashram. The visit of the brother disciples of Swami Vivekananda have enhanced the value of this Vidyapith. It retains an important position in the movement of Ramakrishna mission.
Rikhiapeeth: Located in the rural village of Rikhia panchayat, this sacred place is known for the presence of enlightened sages, rishis and spiritual gurus. It is also known as 'tapobhumi' and is known for the teachings of Swami Satyananda Saraswati. It is known for one of the finest schools of yoga in Bihar.
Trikut Hill: Located 13 km away from Deogarh, Trikut Hill consists of three main peaks. Hence, it is also called as Trikutachal. Trikutachal Mahadeva Temple, the temple of Lord Shiva is located at the peak. The rope-way helps in reaching the top of the hill. The first solar energy hub is located at the Trikut Hill.
