Wildlife Destinations

Asiatic Lions

Within India, some of the finest and best-preserved wildlife sanctuaries are located in the western part of the country. While the majestic Asiatic Lions are a major attraction, the region offers far more—an incredible variety of wildlife and avifauna species that await visitors across the many sanctuaries of West India.

The Best Wildlife Destinations of West India are:

Gir National Park
Gir is the only place in the world where you can spot Asiatic Lions, making it one of the most renowned national parks. Besides lions, the park is home to Wild Boar, Sloth Bear, Panther, Jackal, Sambar, Spotted Deer, Striped Hyena, Leopard, Nilgai, Chinkara Gazelle, Jungle Cat, Common Langur, Porcupine, Blackbuck, Mongoose, and the Indian Chousingha. The sanctuary also includes sites of Hindu worship and pilgrimage, along with a natural sulphur spring at Tulsi Shyam and Kankai Mata. Jeep safaris are the best way to explore the park. The ideal time to visit is from December to April.

Overall, Bondla is a wonderful place for recreation. The best time to visit is from October to March.
