Central India is known for its hot and humid summers due to its topography but there are some places in Central India where you can plan your vacation to retreat from the staunching heat. Mainpat
Locally known as mini Tibet, Mainpat is a hill station initially a group of 62 plateaus. It is a charming place with many cultural and natural sites to visit. The place abounds in waterfalls, Sal forests, medicinal plants and a variety of fauna. The valleys and hills of Mainpat offers beautiful waterfalls lie Tiger point where Tigers roam and Fish Point. Other notable sights here are the beautiful Buddhist temples and other attractions such as Dhakpo Monastery, Tibet Refugee Camp, Mehta Point and Pharphatia, Jaljali and Tatapani. Apart from scenic waterfalls, Mainpat has a lot of monasteries and Tibetan settlements. It is also famous for trekking and rock climbing.
Panchmahri
Fondly called as the Satpura ki Rani, Panchmahri, perched at a height of 1000 m, the greenery all around and the cool temperature prevailing throughout the year makes a perfect retreat from the summer heat. A saucer shaped hill station, Panchmahri has all characteristics of scenic beauty of Nature. Waterfalls, streams, wild-life and presence of some rare species of medicinal plants has made it most favored tourist spot of Madhya Pradesh. The Victorian churches, bungalows and cemeteries give a colonial atmosphere to the town.
Satpura- Tamiya hill station
Yet another hill station like Panchmahri, Tamiya is located at the centre of Satpura national park. A scenic spot and less crowded, the sunset point, Satpura Hills, Panchmahri Biosphere Reserve, Catholic Church and Rajendra Giri are a must visit in Satpura-Tamiya.
