Agartala

The princely capital city of Agartala features testaments such as Ujjayanta Palace, Neermahal, State Museum and Kunjaban Palace.
Unakoti
It is ‘Shaiba’ (Shaivite) pilgrimage and dates back to 7th – 9th centuries. Unakoti means one less than a crore. The rock carvings, murals, waterfalls are not to be missed. As per Hindu mythology, when Lord Shiva was going to Kashi along with one crore gods and goddesses he made a night halt at this location. He asked all to wake up before sun rise and proceed for Kashi. In the morning, except Shiva, no one else could get up so Lord Shiva set out for Kashi himself cursing the others to become stone images. As a result we have one less than a crore stone images and carvings at Unakoti.
Dumboor Lake
Dumboor Lake is a charming water body. The look of the lake is like tabour shaped small drum, "Dumboor" of Lord Shiva from which the name "Dumboor" originates. With 48 islands in the midst of the lake, migratory birds and water sports facilities are additional attractions. his is also the place which is near to the Tirthamukh Pilgrim Centre and where Poush Makar Sankranti Fair is held each year.
